On 29 June 2012, RNW made its last ever shortwave broadcast in English (on 6065 kHz in the 49 metre band). This video shows the final five or so minutes of the transmission, and the video runs until the carrier wave drops.
Interval signal and signon of Radio Netherlands Worldwide circa 2005. From the report on Angela Merkel's election victory this was probably from late September. Received with a Sony ICF-2003 in Toronto, Canada, from RNW's site in Bonaire. Sadly RNW was effectively killed by the Dutch government in 2012.

This black and white film was made in 1968 at the moment when Philips shipped two 300 kW transmitters from the factory in the Netherlands to the island of Bonaire, then part of the Netherlands Antilles. The film had no sound - I just thought the music fitted for an internal presentation because it does look as thought they are building a secret rocket launcher for Dr Evil rather than a shortwave relay station to improve the audibility of Radio Netherlands in the Americas and West Africa. I'm guessing that this film was used for promotional purposes by Philips since the shipping containers carry rather obvious ads plastered on the containers.

Dutch Alt-Right activists Bart and Michael have taken the initiative to set up regular meetups in the Netherlands people concerned with the future of Europe. Their first conference, Erkenbrand, will take place in Rotterdam at the end of September and include guests such as Millennial Woes and Roger Devlin. We begin with a few necessary introductions, including a brief mention of the upcoming Erkenbrand conference in Holland. We then delve into the ongoing demographic crisis in the West. Although this topic is certainly commonplace within the Alt-Right, there has been very little coverage on the how it has affected Holland in particular. Thankfully, Bart and Michael are more than willing to fill us in. We learn that Holland, much like the rest of the West, is being flooded with non-Europea...
